Information we collect
When you browse
Our web server processes technical information needed to deliver pages, such as your IP address and browser type. We do not store IP addresses in our own click or advert statistics. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs for security for a limited time.
When you click a bookmaker link (/go/ links)
We record:
- the bookmaker and the link position (for example "review page");
- the page you clicked from and the website that referred you, if your browser shares it;
- your device category (mobile, tablet or desktop);
- your country, only if our hosting or network provider supplies it; and
- a short code created from your connection details and the date, using a secret key. It changes every day, cannot be turned back into your IP address, and is used only to ignore repeated clicks.
These records are deleted automatically after 180 days.
Advertisement statistics
When an advert is at least half visible on your screen, your browser sends us the advert's number. We store daily totals of views and clicks per advert and device type, not individual records about you.
When you email us
If you contact us, we receive your email address and message. We use them only to reply and keep them only as long as needed.
Administrators
Site administrators use a login with a session cookie. Ordinary visitors do not receive this cookie.
Cookies and local storage
We do not set cookies for ordinary visitors. If you close the mobile advert bar, your browser remembers that choice in its local storage on your device for a few days; nothing is sent to us.
Third parties
When you leave BetGuide for a bookmaker or another website, that site's own privacy policy applies. Bookmakers may use tracking codes to know you came from us.
Your rights
You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to its use, subject to the law. Because our click records do not identify individuals, we usually cannot link them to you. Contact us at info@betguide.co.zw.
Zimbabwean law
We aim to handle personal information in line with Zimbabwe's data protection law, including the Cyber and Data Protection Act.
Changes
We will update this page if our practices change and show the review date at the top.
