Definition
A short code that saves the selections on a bet slip so they can be reloaded later, on another device or at a betting shop, without picking them again.
Many bookmakers in Zimbabwe offer a "book a bet" feature. A booking code stores the selections, not a placed bet: nothing is staked until someone loads the code and confirms a bet with their own money. The odds may also have changed by the time the code is used.
Booking codes are widely shared on WhatsApp, Telegram and Facebook by "tipsters". Remember:
- A shared code does not make the selections more likely to win.
- Many tipsters are paid per sign-up or sell "VIP" codes; they do not risk your money, you do.
- Always open the slip and check every selection before staking. A code can contain markets you would not choose, such as long accumulators or unusual handicaps.
Booking codes are useful for your own convenience, for example to prepare a slip at home and stake it in a shop. Treat codes from strangers with caution, and read how to identify suspicious betting websites and scams.
